Future of dentists and dentistry?

Many authorities say that there is going to be increasing need of dentists in the future but I would like to know in which sectors of dentistry/health care the need is going to increase most. What is the 'hot' area of specialization, or alternatively, where is the work going to be most needed? Developing countries, research sector...? Thank you in advance for any applicable replies!

Future of dentists and dentistry?
baby boomers are starting to lose their teeth and they are the most vain group in history. for that reason dental implants is the fastest growing area of dentistry. the best part is that implants have become a procedure best suited for the general dentist rather than the specialist. so you'll start seeing some mega wealthy general dentists in the next 10 years and i intend to be one of them!
Reply:Public health dentistry and restorative dentistry will be the hot area of specialization be it in the developing countries or developed.
Reply:There will be an increased need for dentists across the board, because fewer dentists are graduating each year than are retiring. There are already major shortages in rural areas, because most dentists don't want to relocate there. Everything will be 'hot.' There will be a greater need for geriatric dentistry as America continues to "gray." People are keeping more of their teeth longer than before, so they'll need dentist long into their later years. I currently work for a clinic that offers indigent care, but we're catching a lot of flak from the local pedodontist. Dude, chill out! You don't accept Medicaid so BTFU!
Reply:In my country (that is one of the developing couturiers),definitely we will need lotsa of dentists specialized in Public health dentistry and pediatric dentistry because of that around 60-70% of the population are younger than 15..
Reply:In prevention.
