I am sorry to take your time, but I would really appreciate some help .. I am not sure still why I want to apply there? If you are a dentist or are studying dentistry .. can you let me know what has it made to you? and why you choose it? Is there anything I should know before starting it ? also what would they be looking for in the UCAS personal statment ...
thank you for your help :):)
I am applying for Dentistry in the UK .. any help?
hello, i am a second year dental student in the UK. Before you apply,u skould know that it is THE toughest course to be on in the UK, and a lot of people dont realise that they will need to do all the theory work that a medical student needs to do, plus extra work on the head and neck area. it would also be helpful to do some charity work and some voluntary work at a dental practice as this would make your application stand out. On the personal statement, you need to write about why you want to be a dentist. The reasons that you could put include: you enjoy using your hands, you enjoy contact with people, u like science etc and for each reason put an example of how you do this thing now. even if you dont do it, make something up- for example on my personal statement i said im good with working with my hands because my main hobby is building computers, even though i know nothing about computers.
If u want to know anything else, feel free to email me. I could also take a look at your personal statement and suggest improvents.
Reply:Are you a fully trained dentist or are you wanting to get on a course? Many retire by 50 or even 45 years old.Just depends on how much you can fiddle and get away with.
Reply:if you are from a not english-speaking country you have to take a test of english as a foreign language(TOEFL ibt,IELTS or cambridge certificate of advanced english ect.) that's for all students
i don't know about dentists but after you choose an university there should be enough information about the requirements
good luck
